I have a tendency to yearn for something that will put to a solid line of thought my position in Christ. This is my first crack at it.
The quandry of mans dilemma is that we hold a treasure in this earthen vessels that we by no means deserve. We bear a light that lights all of mankind and the only thing dimming it is us. Here in is the hope that we have, Christ in us the hope of glory.
Check Romans 8:30
Whom the Lord predestined these He also called whom He called these He also justified and these He also justified and whom He also justified, these He also glorified.
After a short obeservation of this verse we see that it is exceedingly obvious that where God has us, has absolutely nothing to do with us. It is a work all of the Lords choosing.
Check Ephesians 2:8-10
For it is by grace through faith you are saved. This not of yourself it is a gift of God. Unless any man should boast. For we are His workmanship created anew in Christ Jesus unto good works which he preordained that we should walk therein.
Who am I? Who are you? Who are we?
We are God's work in progress. He is making us and causing us to be conformed to the image of His son. We are His treasure in an earthened vessels. We are showcase of God's grace, love and wisdom. The us that we are has to do with the am who God is. He allowed us to partake of this divine nature by faith in Christ Jesus.
However this bares to be the complete antithesis of what we live on a regular basis. The bible records the words of David in a prayer in Psalm 51..."Behold i was born into sin and shapen in inquity".
Paul turns around and picks up on the same thought and applies it to the body in Romans 12:1-2
I urge you therefore brethen to present your body a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God which is your spiritual worship and be not conformed to this world but transformed by the renewing of your mind so that you can prove that perfect, good and acceptable will of God.
God revealed this Pastor Creflo Dollar with this vision. The "you" mention in Romans and other various places has two different distintions. The you the spirit and changed man and the you the fleshly bodily man. Inserting this idea we see its very obvious that the power of GOd is revealed in us by this dichotmous reality. The blood of Christ has caused a quick and sharp distinction from the flesh and spirit that the illuminated man can see.
This illumination costed the Jesus' life on the cross. With price he purchased us. We are not our own for we have been made new. The new us that we are belongs to Christ. The old us can only exist, functionally speaking, when we activate the resurrection power to bring the flesh to life.
Whereas I used to have obligation to the flesh to live after the flesh. I am no longer bound by the flesh, but by the spirit.
I Corinthians 15:10 shows the active grace of God and it is to this end I pray.
Lord we submit to the work that you are doing in us. Having already ready set us apart, cleansed us, purified us and made us your own, we yeild. Make us according to thy marvelous will Oh Lord. We present this our will, hearts, souls and bodies a living sacrifice to you. We ask that your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. In the name of Jesus we declare both our freedom from sin and our bondage to you ,our savior. Lead us as you will according to your spirit. In our weakness we lean on your strength and in our strength we lend them to you that you would be glorfied in our lives. Amen
